What does a whole-home dehumidifier do?

It removes excess moisture from the air as it circulates through your HVAC system, helping reduce musty smells, condensation, and mold risks throughout your home.

Do I need a dehumidifier in Alabama?

Yes—our climate is often humid, especially in the spring and summer. A whole-home dehumidifier helps maintain healthy humidity levels and reduces allergens, mold, and discomfort.

Can it help prevent mold growth?

Absolutely. Mold thrives in moist environments. A properly installed dehumidifier significantly lowers the chance of mold forming in walls, ducts, and other hidden areas.

Will it make my air conditioner work better?

Yes. When your air has less moisture, your AC doesn’t have to work as hard to cool your home. This improves efficiency and comfort.

How is a whole-home dehumidifier installed?

We install the unit directly into your HVAC system’s ductwork. The system runs in coordination with your AC or independently, depending on humidity levels.

Is maintenance required?

Yes. Filters should be cleaned or replaced regularly, and the drain line may need occasional attention. We include this as part of regular HVAC tune-ups.

Can I monitor humidity levels at home?

Yes. Many systems include a humidistat or integrate with smart thermostats to show your current indoor humidity level.

Are financing options available?

Definitely. Aux Home Services offers financing to make humidity control upgrades affordable and accessible for Birmingham homeowners.
