Aux Home Services has been helping the heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical needs of homes across Jefferson and Shelby Counties for over 30 years.
After serving in the US Navy, Phil Smitherman established Aux Mechanical (now Aux Home Services) in 1987. In the Navy, the Auxiliary (“Aux”) forces are the vessels which keep combat vessels operational (including transport, repairs, refueling, cargo, and surveying). In the same way, Aux Home Services works to keep your home up and running and operational – helping to keep your plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems in full working order.

I can't recommend Aux Home Services and Preston enough. We had an older home with tricky wiring, and Preston took the time to explain everything, answered all my questions patiently, and did excellent, careful work installing our new light fixture. He clearly knew what he was doing and didn't cut any corners (exactly what you want when it comes to electrical work in an older house). Professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. The monthly service plan was easy to sign up for (covers plumbing, electrical, and HVAC... perfect for an older home). If you need an electrician in the Birmingham area, ask for Preston. Also, dispatch team were great! Highly recommend!
