How do I know if my air conditioner needs repair?

Common signs include weak airflow, strange noises, foul odors, or uneven cooling throughout your home. If your energy bills are rising without explanation, it could also signal a system issue. Aux Home Services can inspect your system and recommend the best solution.

What brands of air conditioners do you service?

We work with all major AC brands including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, and more. Our technicians are trained to handle a wide range of systems regardless of manufacturer. We also stay updated on the latest models and features.

Is it better to repair or replace my AC unit?

It depends on the age and condition of your current system. If your unit is over 10–15 years old and repairs are frequent or expensive, replacement may be more cost-effective. Our team will walk you through the pros and cons of each option.

How often should I schedule air conditioner maintenance?

We recommend scheduling a tune-up once a year, ideally before the hot season begins. This helps prevent breakdowns, improves energy efficiency, and extends your unit’s lifespan. Regular maintenance also keeps your manufacturer warranty valid.

Can I finance a new AC installation?

Yes, we offer flexible financing options to make system upgrades affordable. We’ll help you choose a plan that works for your budget without sacrificing quality. Just ask us during your consultation.

What’s included in an AC tune-up?

A typical tune-up includes checking refrigerant levels, inspecting electrical components, cleaning the coils, tightening connections, and testing system performance. It’s a great way to ensure everything’s running at peak efficiency.

Do you offer ductless air conditioning services?

Yes! We install, repair, and maintain ductless mini-split systems for homes without ductwork. These systems are energy-efficient and great for additions, offices, or zoned cooling.

How fast can you come out for an emergency AC repair?

We offer 24/7 emergency AC repair across Birmingham. Our technicians are always on standby and aim to arrive as quickly as possible to restore comfort. Call 205-979-0946 when your system breaks down unexpectedly.

How do I know if my air conditioner needs repair?

The most common indicators include weak airflow, warm air coming from your registers, frequent cycling, foul odors, or strange squealing and banging noises inside the unit. If you notice a sudden spike in your utility bills or ice forming on the outdoor lines, it’s time to call an AC repair company in Birmingham to address the issue before the system shuts down completely.

Major AC brands we install, repair, and maintain include Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, Bryant, and more. We also stay continuously updated on the latest smart models and technology features.

What exactly is included in an AC tune-up in Birmingham?

Our comprehensive cooling maintenance checklist ensures everything about your Birmingham air conditioner is running at peak efficiency. It includes checking and balancing refrigerant levels, inspecting all electrical components and wiring, cleaning the condenser and evaporator coils, tightening connections, clearing the condensate drain line, and testing overall system performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Whether it’s a better choice to repair or replace your aging AC unit depends on the age and condition of your current system. Because of Alabama’s long, intense cooling seasons, most residential units last between 10 and 15 years.

If your system is approaching that mark and requires frequent, expensive repairs, a complete air conditioning replacement in Birmingham is usually the most cost-effective long-term choice. Modern systems are significantly more efficient and pay for themselves over time.
